Eccl. 5:3-7 For the dream comes
through much effort, and the voice of a fool through many words. When you
make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it; for He takes no delight
in fools. Pay what you vow! It is better that you should not vow
than that you should vow and not pay. Do not let your speech cause
you to sin and do not say in the presence of the messenger of God that
it was a mistake. Why should God be angry on account of your voice and
destroy the works of your hands? For in many dreams and in many words there
is emptiness. Rather, fear God.
Eccl. 10:12,14 Words from the mouth
of a wise man are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him; Yet the
fool multiplies words. No man knows what will happen, and who can tell
him what will come after him?
Ezk. 12:25 “For I the LORD shall
speak, and whatever word I speak will be performed. It will no longer be
delayed, for in your days, O rebellious house, I shall speak the word and

Lev. 5:4 ‘Or if a person swears

speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings

his words has knowledge, And he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.
Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his
lips is counted prudent.
Prov. 20:15 There is gold, and
an abundance of jewels; But the lips of knowledge are a more precious thing.
Prov. 21: 23 He who guards his
mouth and his tongue, Guards his soul from troubles.
Prov. 23:9 Do not speak in the
hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words.
Prov. 26:28 A lying tongue hates
those it crushes, And a flattering mouth works ruin.
Prov. 27:2 Let another praise you,
and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips.
Isaiah 32:6 For a fool speaks nonsense,
And his heart inclines toward wickedness; To practice ungodliness and to
speak error against the LORD, To keep the hungry person unsatisfied And
to withhold drink from the thirsty.

Eph. 4:29 Let no unwholesome word
proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification
